Oak Group

The Oak Group, a privately held company based in Wayland,
Massachusetts, was formerly known as Utilization Management
Associates (UMA), which was founded in 1987 to develop a more modern
and stringent set of admission and discharge criteria based upon
the Appropriateness Evaluation Protocol (AEP). In 1996, The Oak Group
acquired UMA and initiated a comprehensive review and improvement
program based around the emerging needs of American, Canadian, and
United Kingdom health care organizations.

Today, The Oak Group’s products are used to cover over 25 million lives. The
CRU MCAP System combines our evidence based criteria, MCAP, with
our software solutions, CritView, for consistent level-of care reviews
and customized reports. The CRU MCAP System is easy to learn and use
and has proven to be the complete solution for achieving substantial
operational savings while ensuring the highest quality of care is given. The
Oak Group has ensured compliance and agreement with all relevant NICE
standards and relevant DoH rulings and regulations. Our United Kingdom
partners were strategically chosen for their expertise in providing excellent
consultation and tool kits for NHS organizations.

ModelAdvice

ModelAdvice DC Consulting LTD/UK (ModelAdvice) was formed in 2003
for the purpose of providing consultation, guidance and practical toolkits
for a variety of NHS organization needs. One of ModelAdvice’s core
services is the implementation of evidence based clinical admission and
discharge criteria. The work ModelAdvice does in this area results in the
identification and execution of efficient organizational changes that
support objectives to identify and reduce avoidable admissions as well as
in-hospital or intermediate care patients that are clinical stable and can be
safely transitioned to the next level-of-care.

ModelAdvice has selected MCAP criteria as the best match to the United
Kingdom’s healthcare needs. Accordingly, ModelAdvice has partnered with
The Oak Group to assist with the implementation, training and support of
the CRU MCAP System offering in the UK market.
